1. Cook the Sausage
In a large skillet over medium heat, crumble and cook the sausage until no longer pink. Drain any excess fat and let it cool slightly.

2. Mix the Filling
In a mixing bowl, combine the cooked sausage with the softened cream cheese. Stir until well blended and smooth. Add optional shredded cheddar, garlic powder, or chopped herbs for extra flavor.

3. Prepare the Dough
Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Unroll the crescent dough and separate it into triangles (or rectangles if using puff pastry). Place a spoonful of filling on the wide end of each piece, then roll up gently, tucking in the sides slightly if desired.

4. Brush with Egg Wash
Place the rolls on a parchment-lined baking sheet. Brush the tops with beaten egg for a beautiful golden finish.
