Creamed Chipped Beef on Toast

 

 

👩‍🍳 Instructions

1️⃣ Prepare the beef

  • If the dried beef is very salty, rinse it briefly under warm water and pat dry.

  • Cut or tear into bite-size pieces.

2️⃣ Make the roux

  • Melt butter in a skillet over medium heat.

  • Add flour and whisk constantly for about 1 minute (do not brown).

3️⃣ Make the cream sauce

  • Gradually whisk in warm milk.

  • Cook, stirring constantly, until thick and smooth.

4️⃣ Add the beef

  • Stir in the chipped beef.

  • Season generously with black pepper.

  • Simmer 3–5 minutes until heated through.

5️⃣ Serve

  • Spoon the creamy beef over hot toast.

  • Serve immediately.
